“Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.”
– Peter Drucker
“People will not follow a leader with moral incongruities for long. Every time you compromise character you compromise leadership. The foundation of firm leadership is character.”

Today, another significant set of circumstances took place that is prompting this blog post.
Following along the same lines as the gem of a human being that was previously discussed, another circumstance that mirrors that one closely just manifested not too lon ago. Like the previous individual at a different business is causing issues, this individual is on a war path as well. This doesn’t surprised me given that much of what happens in corporate America at the top trickles all the way down to the bottom, in this case in a negative manner.
I really, really, really wish this were all a made-up scenario, because then that would mean that none of the people involved are getting hurt, but unfortunately it is not. The theme of the last week has been fire and brimstone. What’s worse is that there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
Getting down to the point, one person was fired, one person was threated with losing their job, another person quit, another person is being held back from a promotion, and a few others are pondering ruminating upon quitting. All this stems from ceaseless withdraws from emotional bank accounts, acts based out of someone merely wanting to run his kingdom with an iron first of power rather than a velvet glove.
Not only is the situation affecting the morale of workers, but it is also affecting the morale many customers including myself.
It’s always perplexed me, but I never understood why people will use a pound of salt when merely an ounce of sugar would be vastly superior and go a much longer way.
This whole situation is getting so out of control that its not only affecting workers, but it’s affecting many customers as well. All because one individual is afraid to lose their job. Ironically, if they just helped the person that wanted the similar job, especially given that the person was open about wanting to work at a different location closer to their home, this whole situation would have been done and over with because training would have been complete as well as the transfer.
I couldn’t resist using Megatron as the garbage truck metaphor given the reference above and how poignant it is given that this was his the garbage truck was his ‘normal’ mode of deception before transformation into his true being.
