What follows is part vent, part blog post on simplicity, but it’s going to be a bit longer than my usual blog posts.  Although it might seem that I am meandering a bit, there’s a logical sequence to certain steps I (and others) took yesterday across various social media platform.  More on that in a moment though.

Yesterday, I wrote about meeting someone that just moved here that was a family member, and that was my uncle.  We got to talking about a variety of things, but one moment stood out most of all.

Sometimes in life, while you are talking to someone you get to a point where the conversation takes a very serious tone, the type of tone when you just have to shut the @#!$ up and let someone vent their heart out; this was one of those moments.  I let him vent about his health, life, and him not having too much time left, and then the conversation leveled out to less dismal topics.  This conversation left me incredibly emotional, though I masked it rather well (I hope) and I knew I just wanted to go home.  Why so?

Because it reminded me of a circumstance that took place when I was much younger, though both scenarios aren’t exactly alike, but you will understand why it reminded me in a second.

In the early 2000s, I visited Puerto Rico for the first time since we moved as a family to Arizona.  In a nutshell, at one point I wanted to take a picture with my grandma.  And anybody that knows me personally knows that I hate taking pictures.  I don’t mind it, but most of the time I don’t (usually) like taking pictures for reasons I will not get into here.  And a lot of the pictures that I have taken are always on my phone, mostly pictures with friends, family and so on.  This is because if I do end up taking a picture, it means a lot to me, which is why the pictures always with me.  That, or you have to be one of my conniving friends (bless their hearts) and sneak a picture when I least expect it.  Taking pictures of friends?  Sure, I love that; I love photography in general, and I love taking pictures of my friends.  But I’m not usually in a lot of the pictures.

The reason I say that is because even though I hate pictures where I’m in them, I wanted really bad to take a picture with my grandmother when we visited; so you know, I had to want to take a picture with my grandma really bad for me to even bring it up.  That last day, for hours, I hounded her about taking a picture with her and she wasn’t having it.  Her reasons were, because she didn’t look ‘good’ and so on.  I told her that I didn’t care, but she wasn’t having it.  In any respect, I gave up because she was getting annoyed and I didn’t want to bug her any longer.  Now when leaving, I just had this overwhelming feeling that I would never see her again.  I had never had a feeling like that before, and I thought it was stupid.  In reality, I didn’t know when we (or I) would be back to visit, but I just felt really overwhelmed.  It turned out that she passed away a couple of years later, all because a medical mistake in which the medical personnel didn’t read a damn chart.

I’ve searched everywhere, but I don’t think I ever took a picture with my grandma, at least not one that I can remember.  I’ve gone through family photos and so on, and all I’ve seen are her and I when I was much younger, a baby for instance.  Anyways, the point of this whole (lengthy) preamble is that, although I do have a feeling I will see my uncle again, he’s already on borrowed time.

This whole scenario with my grandma flashed in my mind, which made it hard for me to keep my composure because well, knowing that someone’s ticket with the reaper has already been punched will make anyone sad, if not downright depressed.

After we were done having dinner, we said our goodbyes, and I went home (and couldn’t get there fast enough) because I just wanted to lay down and not think, not that that’s possible but I just had to get home.  I get home, and after changing my mind, I write the blog post that I did, which involved my uncle because that was my way of sort of venting on the issue, but I held a lot back as is evident now.

From there, I end up deciding not to lie down, and instead opt to get on a variety of social media platforms to see if I can just talk to some friends and vent.  Lo and behold, it’s nothing but fire and brimstone everywhere, people arguing over the most inconsequential and trivial things that, in the grand scope of things, don’t really matter.  What’s worse is how everyone were treating each other (or me) in a few respects, so I was about to make a call and get some friends to do our usual Facebook mass purge of all of our accounts as well as on other social media, but someone beat me to the punch and was seeing if we wanted to start a group on Skype to do it all simultaneously while catching up.

Before going on, why would it be important for me to purge accounts on many social media platform?  This is because (1) I have already lost a few friends this year and it’s been the toughest year emotionally speaking yet that I can remember.  Moreover, as mentioned before, (2) my uncle is dealing with stage 3 cancer that can’t be handled and is already on borrowed time, (3) there’s a family member in a coma (not joking) that my lovely father just happens to tell part of the entire family weeks later because (you just can’t make this stuff up) he “didn’t think it was important”.

Predictably, I’m till downright furious about that.  ANY family member being in a coma, HELL, ANY HUMAN BEING, being in a coma, is as real as it gets.  Not only that, but there’s also (4) the issue of my Mom’s health where she doesn’t seem to be getting completely better even though the doctors say “everything is okay” and “the cancer is gone” (we’ve heard that one before).  Lastly, (5) I have been out of remission with my disease for months, and any stress affects it greatly, which is why I often seek a mindful approach, as well as employ yoga when I can at home or the gym.

My own personal reason for purging (or muting) accounts was due to stress and my goal to simplify where I can in my attempts to regain my health and get back into remission.  I can’t be the best me if I’m not healthy, and I can’t be healthy if I repeatedly expose myself to things that are stressful, no matter how mindful I am, and expect for significant progress to take place.  These were the vanguard reasons for me purging accounts of myriad types yesterday.

With this personally in mind, myself and others all started on Skype, but when the room got really crowded we moved to Discord, and we just began purging accounts for 6-7 hours or so.  It’s exhausting removing hundreds and hundreds of accounts from multiple Facebook accounts that I use for activism and the like, dozens on Instagram, WordPress, Twitter, you name it.

I just wasn’t having it any longer, my health’s too important for me to subject myself to things I don’t have too.  Some people, the ones I’ve known for a long time, I either told the straight up that I’m muting them because x,y,z, reason, and they understood.  Others, if we didn’t know them in any way shape or form, or had never even realized they were on our friends list, then they got removed, while also removing accounts that are constant negativity for the sake of negativity; that was the main approach for myself and my friends.  And people that I ‘kind of’, ‘sort of’, knew, it was fifty-fifty based on judgment calls for me personally.

It’s not like I don’t care about some of these people, I do.  But the bottom line is that, to a great extent, we are a product of our environments, History and Epigenetics have taught us this much.    If you end up subjecting yourself to stressful situations, negativity, and lots of things that you don’t have too, it’s just going to have detrimental effects on your being on an overarching basis.

Given that, at an emotional level, my plate is incredibly full and I’m already significantly stressed about many circumstances, I’m just going to be incredibly selective to what I expose myself too.  It’s not that I don’t care or simply won’t talk to people and debate, or that I will not at all read things that might seem dismal and so on; it’s just that repeatedly doing so when there’s no need to doesn’t make any sense.

This year has already been incredibly tough, and I know it’s going to get tougher with time given all the above and more.  I just don’t want to get to a point where I irrevocably shatter and can’t pull myself back together again is all.

As a preamble, oil pulling is putting a spoonful of oil in your mouth and swishing the oil around in your mouth for a few minutes.  Once an individual does that, they then proceed to spit out the oil making sure not to swallow it, nor the toxins that were ‘pulled’ from one’s mouth.  That last part is integral, because all the toxins that leave your mouth will become part of the swished components that have seeped from your mouth after oil pulling, and nobody wants that that reentering their system.

Oil pulling itself goes back a few thousand years.  In fact, it has its origins in Ayurvedic medicine in India, if not before.  Ancient Ayurvedic medical texts outlined this practice, and the practitioners found out that rinsing the mouth with vegetable oil ‘not only cleanses the mouth but restores health to the body.  In fact, this process is said to cure a few dozen system diseases.[1]

Because of those facts, Oil Pulling Therapy – Detoxifying & Healing The Body Through Oral Cleansing by Dr. Bruce Fife is a very important, and underrated book.

The reason Oil Pulling Therapy is important is because it gets at the heart of the matter regarding disease: the mouth.  Being a mirror to our bodies, if you have dismal mouth and dental health then you are undoubtedly going to experience a kaleidoscope of health problems.

Some of the conditions that are helped by oil pulling are acne, allergies, arthritis, asthma, back pain and neck pain, bad breath, bronchitis, chronic fatigue, colitis, crohn’s disease, constipation, dental cavities, dermatitis, diabetes, eczema, hypertension, hemorrhoids, insomnia, migraine headaches, mucous congestions, peptic ulcers, PMS, periodontal disease, bleeding gums, sinusitis, and tooth abscess.[2]

To continue along the same lines, an incisive passage in the book states that:

“In addition to the above-mentioned conditions, medical studies have indicated that the following can also be directly related to oral health and may respond to oil pulling therapy: Acidosis, Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome [ARDS], Athrosclerosis, Blood Disorders, Brain Abscess, Cancer, Emphysema, Gallbladder Disease, Gout, Heart Disease, Hyperglycemia, Infertility, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Meningitis, Nerve Disorders, Osteoporosis, Paget’s Disease, Pneumonia, Preeclampsia, Preterm/Low Birth Weight Babies, Psychotic Episodes, Stroke, Toxic Shock Syndrome, and many types of infectious disease.”[3]

Many people will instantly think, “But how is it possible that oil pulling can help so much?”  Excellent question.  As alluded to before, the mouth is the gateway to the body, and if the mouth exhibits poor dental health, so will the body.  Since the mouth is a breeding ground for all types of germs, it’s easy to see how these germs, if allowed to remain in the mouth, “can migrate to other parts of the body, cause infections, and alter body chemistry, leading the way to any number of infectious and degenerative conditions.”[4]

For me, personally, there have been quite a few benefits of oil pulling.  As someone whose oil pulled for nigh 5 years, it’s helped my health quite a bit.  Not only do my teeth feel clean, but they are also whiter. Additionally, I don’t experience the pain in my gums that used to happen in the past.  Although I can’t prove it, I do believe myself that oil pulling has also helped me tackle issues with Candida that have taken place in the past.  Furthermore, my regularly scheduled headaches went away, my gums don’t ache when biting foods and are much firmer and healthier, and also don’t experience allergies as much.

The great part about oil pulling is that it’s not only one of the most simplest methods to aid health, but also has nigh no side effects when compared to prescription drugs, which have many.  In fact, properly taken, FDA approved prescription drugs cause over 100,000 deaths yearly.  That’s certainly something you’ll never hear of coconut oil!  That’s a whole ‘nother can of worms however.

In addition, oil pulling, unlike brushing your teeth, gets into many crevices that the brush won’t get into.  This is because “brushing only reaches 60 percent of the surfaces of your teeth, leaving plague in hard-to-reach areas such as in-between teeth.”[5]

Ironically, although benefits of oil pulling go back a few thousand years, it is rarely known to most people.  That’s an intriguing conundrum, except when one realizes that modern medicine goes by the adage that for every ill there is a pill, then you start to see why oil pulling goes against the grain as the system pushes for pills, rather than lifestyle changes and as well as dietary changes.  These changes, ironically, are on par with what our ancestors did, which is why they were vastly healthier than we are as a ‘modern’ society nowadays.

All things considered, oil pulling is one of the cheapest, cost-effective, safe, and efficient ways to take control of one’s health.  Individuals of all ages can do this.   The question isn’t why SHOULD you do it, the question is, why NOT?  But don’t believe me, do your own research, and you will see the effects.

A few months ago I blogged about a story from The Netherlands about a 5G test there, and the apparent deaths of a flock of birds it allegedly caused. And while 5G is not a topic I cover very often here, I do follow it occasionally, since like many people I believe it’s another one of those corporate crapitalism-sponsored disasters  in the making. It’s bad enough in the modern USSA that we’re forced to be jabbed, prodded, taxed to death, spied upon, our privacy invaded, our data bought and sold, our DNA collected, told what pronouns we can and cannot use, forced to pay for the slaughter of the unborn and to subsidize the corporation doing it, subsidize Marxism in the schools and the academies, be regaled with ugly modern art and music at every turn(think the Obama library or portrait), while the neighbor down the street keeps everyone awake at 2AM by playing his jungle music through the sub-woofers in his pickup truck or home stereo – Boom Boom Boom! – now, on top of that, they want to bake everyone’s noodle – literally – by beaming even more microwaves at us, and, surprise surprise, they haven’t even really studied any of the effects yet.

Every time I think of 5G, I think of GMOs, and “substantial equivalence.” Remember that one? In case you forgot, “substantial equivalence” was that nifty doctrine that Mon(ster)santo and other “agribusiness giants” of the agribusiness “community” brewed up in their bubbling cauldrons and served to the FDA in the late 1980s (that’s the Food and Drug Administration; you know, the agency of the same goobernment that says its ok to put aluminum and mercury and all sorts of stuff in vaccines and while outlawing a plant and making it a crime for people who want to smoke it). The doctrine said, in effect, that (1) extensive inter-generational testing of GMO crops – corn, or as they call it in Europe, maize for example – was unnecessary since it looked like ordinary corn and tasted like ordinary corn, so voila, for the consumer, it was substantially equivalent to ordinary corn, except that when it came to (2) the patent for said corn, then the corporations had every right to sue the daylights out of farmers if one little sprout of their substantially equivalent plant was found on their land if they didn’t purchase the license for it, and in fact, even if they had never planted it. Thus, so far as I am concerned, the words Substantial Equivalence are a fitting symbol for a Great Big Crock Full of Steaming Bull Puckey.

As far as I can tell with my very cursory familiarity with the whole 5G rollout, it looks to me as if we’re being served another steaming crock full of Substantial Equivalence; it’s more or less the same as cell phone towers, only “better” somehow. Well, we know the story of how well Substantial Equivalence is working out now – decades later – for Bayer with the recent lawsuits. And that appears to be behind the thinking in this article, shared by V.T.:

5G Roll-out Facing $1 Trillion Class Action Lawsuit

Class action suit, huh? Well, why stop at a mere trillion? Let’s bump it up a bit.

It was while reading that article this week, that I bumped into this one, and this, I suspect, tells the whole story about this latest bit of Substantial Equivalence oozing toward us from corporate crapitalism: http://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=120870

And in case you missed it:

The FCC and other government regulatory bodies, in collusion with the big telecomm industries, are ferociously pushing smart meters, 5G and the Internet of Things.

This roll-out is not only happening in the US, but all over the world. The giant telecomms gush enthusiastically about how EVERYTHING will be connected

OMG!! We’re gonna have Incredibly high-speed connectivity so your little girls and teens can, at supersonic speed, upload pix of their latest nail-polish jobs or cute puppy videos to FaceBook, Pinterest, etc., etc., for their friends to gasp and giggle…..and, of course, click “like” and forward these to their friends…. again, all at warp speed.

BUT WAIT!! …. There’s a tiny but growing wrinkle in this rosy scenario of sugar plums dancing in the heads of these telecomm leaders. Specifically, Lloyds of London, one of the world’s premier insurance groups, is refusing to insure health claims made against wireless technologies. And, other insurance companies are following Lloyd’s lead in this.

If you follow the money, this is HUGE. After all, if these wi-fi techno-toys are so safe, why is Lloyds leaving all this additional money on the table?

Well, Lloyd’s November 2010 Risk Assessment Team’s Report gives us a solid clue: the report compares these wireless technologies with asbestos, in that the early research on asbestos was “inconclusive” and only later did it become obvious to anyone paying attention that asbestos causes cancer. (Emphasis in the original)

Bingo. And for me, this story has some added bitterness, as I lost my youngest sister Jeannie to a glioblastoma multiform brain tumor in 2000. The tumor appeared – you guessed it – exactly where she always held her cell phone when answering calls. And people wonder why I don’t have a cell phone.

In any case, Lloyds’ is saying to the 5G promoters, “proceed at your own risk.” Indeed, proceed at your own risk. The problem, of course, is that class-action lawsuits are an after-the-fact strategy, one that will allow the whole thing to be implemented, and which must then wait until the inevitable health problems occur in such numbers as to be actionable at law. So we’re back at Substantial Equivalence again, where a corrupt goobernment allowed the agribusiness “community” to sell everyone a bill of goods, reap great profits, pack the bureaucracy with corporate “science” backing their claims. The lawsuits followed thirty years later, and so far as I can tell, have not curbed the planting of GMOs very much.

So I propose a different strategy: just say no to the steaming stream of Substantial Equivalence coming from Swampington, D.C.

Eat To Beat Disease – Food’s Medicinal Qualities by Catherine J. Frompovich is a phenomenal foray into the alternative side of health.  Specifically, the alternative side to medicinal properties of foods.

Although that statement might seem rather foreign to those who follow only mainstream health, in fact it’s not.  According to an article on NaturalNews, as much as 80% of the known world still uses ancient medicines made from Plants & Botanicals.  Sure, this book deals with food, but both this book and the article deal with natural medicine that the mainstream establishment doesn’t even acknowledge most of the time, if at all.

Eat To Beat Disease is a significant book that features an extensive and in-depth look into the pros and cons of many foods people have in their daily diets.

Mincing no words, Frompovich gets to the heart of the matter as she states:

“…there are literally thousands of toxic chemicals that legally can beand areplaced into the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe.  Furthermore, even the U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn’t know what some of those chemicals are thanks to the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 loopholes!”[1][Bold & Underline Emphasis Added.]

That’s a scary proposition if there ever were one.  Such is the nature of the beast we as a society face.

In fact, Frompovich goes out of her way to show a rather intriguing, if troubling timeline of the extensive poisoning that our supply has been under for nigh 150 years [if not longer].  This is helpful because it speaks at length of the issue of our deteriorating soil and the fact that vitamins and minerals are being depleted from the soul due to the events discussed within the books.

Other issues discussed by Frompovich included those with prescription drugs, the rampant rise in disease, health issues that are trending, as well as issues with intestines and bowel movements.   The author touches upon these subjects rather saliently showing why each is vital to know about.

Probiotics and prebiotics are also given a cursory glance, as are artificial sweeteners and their ramifications.  Also discussed are issues that revolve around sugar, which is a rather underreported topic by the mainstream establishment.   It’s quite unfortunate, because sugar is one of the biggest fuels in cancer, and most people do not know this.

In any case, Frompovich also covers foods that can help reduce pain, which was rather useful.  As someone who suffered greatly from inflammation for nigh two decades due to intestinal conditions but overcame it with diet and lifestyle changes, the fact that Frompovich gives ways of dealing with pain in a natural way is something that’s greatly appreciated by me.

A short section, but jam-packed with info in the book is called, “Which Foods Help The Body Most In Managing Certain Diseases”.  This section touches upon some of the foods that are helpful in combating issues with blood pressure, cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, heart, the immune system, and stroke.

Other health issues that Frompovich gives a fair nod to are Gallbladder [Disease & Stones], Hypothyroidism, Glaucoma, Obesity and Weight Loss.

Additionally, the book includes a chapter that touches upon HPV Vaccine Reactions and what individuals can do when implementing proper nutrition.  This might be highly helpful for individuals that have dealt with this.

Thereafter, the author covers the importance of B-Complex Vitamin, benefits of fermented foods, and also problems with genetically modified foods which are rampant these days.

Featured also in the book are countless resources that people can use to learn more information about these subjects.  This was also highly valuable given the importance of the subject.

Besides all of this, the author covers so much more.  In all fairness, a few sections of the book could be longer, but this is because the author is taking a broad brush approach to cover as much as possible within the arena of nutritional health.  There is an incredible amount of information out there.  With that in mind, the information provided does give enough of a launching pad for individuals to begin taking charge of their health, which is one of the premises of this book.

One more important point: Frompovich – thankfully! – footnoted the book extensively, which is how ALL books should be done, at the bottom of each page, like it used to be done in olden times (don’t even get me started on this).

Unfortunately, newer footnoting techniques have changed extensively from how books were written centuries ago.  Forgoing footnotes is a way of soft censorship; this censorship of data prevents people from accessing information, by (1) either making it harder to find, or (2) simply not even having the information available in most cases.  The fact that most ebooks don’t even have footnotes speaks to this VERY issue, which is vital importance, especially for those who value knowledge and research.

Apologies for the tangent, it’s just that as a researcher its highly valuable when people footnote their sources within their book, or articles.

Eat To Beat Disease is a veritable template for the many ways individuals can employ nutrition to conquer disease.  It’s the type of book that should be discussed at length in society, and by the mainstream press, but will not any coverage due to the ramifications and the profits it would ‘steal’ from Big Pharma, Big Medica and Big Food.  That fact alone should make proactive and mindful individuals weary since optimal health methods should be something to strive for, or at least discussed.

When one keeps in mind the above constellation of facts and more, this book is invaluable and should become part of your library.

It’s great seeing people get life changing news, particularly positive news.  Especially, those closest to you, those you love, like your Mom.

After running some tests the last few days, today she was told that she (1) didn’t have cancer and (2) didn’t have Ulcerative Colitis either.  Obviously we are all stoked.  We’ve all been incredibly worried given her health issues she’s had of late, but thankfully all is well.

Why is all this relevant?  Beyond the obvious reasons, she’s feeling inspired, really inspired.  In fact, today (just hours ago) she tells my Ol’ Lady and I that she’s cooking.  We ask her what, wondering what she’s cooking, and she says Olive Garden.  There’s a running joke in our family where at times, someone says they’re cooking, and everyone else doesn’t know whether they are serious, or joking, like she was.  Not that she doesn’t cook, my Mom loves cooking, but she just hasn’t been able to for weeks, like she sometimes enjoys doing.  Hearing her laugh at her own joke definitely lifted our spirits.

Honestly, when she began her joke, and I wasn’t sure whether she was joking or not, I thought she was going to choose Palio’s in all honesty.  That and TGI Friday’s (besides Olive Garden) are her defaults.  Irrespective of that though, the fact that she was willing to go out (and lead the charge!) and about says a lot – it speaks volumes.  She’s been incredibly spent of late, and just seeing her moving at all more than a few steps is great.

In fact, she’s downstairs dancing and doing the dishes as we speak.  I know I know, some of you might argue, you’re letting your Mom wash the dishes!  HELL YES!  I love washing dishes, in fact, its therapeutic to me (not even kidding either), that and folding clothes; both are nigh a Zen-like experience for me.   But seeing my mom (1) walking enthusiastically anywhere, (2) doing the dishes, while (3) salsa dancing in between?  No way in HELL I’m going to ruin her Mojo.  No. Way.  Not at all.  Not even a little bit.

Getting back on track, out of the three things above, the dancing is the most important part in my opinion. You ever notice that when people dance, they are nigh always in a good mood, many times a great mood?  How many people do you see dancing in a bad mood?  Not many.  Not many at all.  Dancing tells you a lot about people, their moods, and how carefree they can be.  That and singing, and lots of other things.  You know where I’m getting at.

The point of this is that, the confluence of all that is because she’s motivated and inspired by the good news, and who wouldn’t be?

You never know when inspiration will strike, but those fires need to be stoked ceaselessly.

And who knows?  Maybe tomorrow she feels like ‘cooking’ again?
