Here I am, arriving on the moon drenched in water (don’t ask, we’ll get to that) when I see someone crawl out of a painting.  The first thing in my mind: well that’s something you don’t see every day.

A person just contorting their way between the frame of a painting, and landing nigh flat, in nigh perfect balance.  In.  High.  Heels.  It was a miracle she didn’t stumble.  Hell, I don’t know how women do it.

She looks at me, as I’m drenched in water, and asks, “So, guess you didn’t know about the painting trick huh?”
“I prefer going for a swim, personally.”
“What route did you take?”
The Airport
The Train Station
The Pentagon
Lemuria
Machu Picchu
The Local Starbucks
The Great Pyramid
The Bookstore
The Louvre
Atlantis
“The local pond.”
She suppresses a laugh, and says “You’re kidding” as she gives me the most quizzical expression with her hands on her hips.
“Just like it sounds.  I figured out you can get to the moon through the local pond.  It’s a stargate in disguise, so easy to hide.”
“Figures.  You learn something new every day I guess.”

“Anyways, so – “ I was about to ask…
“Don’t ask,” was the curt reply.
“Fine, I won’t.”

A minute passed by as we just took in the vast expanse of space.

“What are you thinking about?” she inquired.
“And I quote, ‘don’t ask’”
“Why do you have to be so rude?”
“Says the Ice Queen,”
“Hey water works, shut it,” she snapped off.
“I was just giving you a dose of – “

I was cut off by a slow raising of ‘the finger’.  No, no, no, not the middle finger.  The international “Shut the f@#$ up sign” index finger.  My hands raised in resignation and I gave in.

Fine” I said.
“Fine.”

Tens minutes later…

“So – “ Instantly couldn’t resist.
“Don’t,”
“You know I’m going to ask.“
“Fine, get it over with,” she finally gave in.

But I just started off into space.

Turning her head slowly at an angle, she glares at me impatient.  Very impatient.

“Well aren’t you going to ask?”

I just nod slowly over the horizon.  She glances left, and we just stare in awe.

She eagerly quotes, “Well that’s not something you see every day.”
“Wait.  Wait.  Wait.”  How did you know I said that?  I never said that out loud.”
“I have my ways.”
“Oh really?  Is that so?” my curiosity replied.

The nod was slow, ever so.  We still glanced over the horizon, amazed at what was taking place right before our eyes.

“We should take a picture of that,” she said in awe.
“We should.”

She begins taking out her camera, and I hurl frigid water straight from a bucket.  And she’s drenched head to toe, and she’s pissed.

“How did – “
I have my ways,” I said as I bolted towards the stargate.

“Hey!  Where you going!?”
My voice is trailing off as I yell, “Someone’s going fishing with explosives, and if I don’t make it out now then I’ll be stuck here.  C-ya!” was my reply as I ran for my life.

As I’m about jump through the Stargate, at nanoslowness, the gate disintegrates and I end up crashing like superman headfirst into dust.  Now I was drenched in water and covered and dust.  She loved that.  She was reveling in it.

“Don’t you gotta go somewhere,” I snapped off.
“No no no, this is good,” she said hysterically.
“Not as funny as your ticket back home.”
“What….” She echoed slowly craning her head backwards.

Her eyes widened as the painting’s a blazing inferno.

Dropping her shoulders in resignation she says, “I guess we’re stuck here.”

“You started it,” I smirked.
“Well played,” she replied.
“I guess we’re stuck here until someone else comes along through another one of the unknown paths.
“Guess so.”

Staring into the horizon for minutes, she asks “Well aren’t you going to ask?”
“Nah,” I replied promptly.
“Why not?” she replied sadly.
“No no no, don’t get sad.  We’re going to be here a long time, questions can wait.  But that view though, just look at the Earth.  Are we ever going to see a view that amazing of it ever again?”
“Hopefully.  But I get what you mean.”
“I wish I could paint that.”
“Oh you mean like this?” she says as she motioned to the side a full painting, an exact replica of what we were seeing.
“That’s cheating.”
“Okay fine.”
“That was neat though.  I haven’t learned that one before.”
“Hey genius,” she replies with enough sarcasm to walk all the way to the Earth, “why don’t you take your own advice on imagination?”

I raise the finger, ever, so, slowly.

“Shhhhhh.”

She says not another word for nigh an hour.  We just started ever-perplexed at the same object that had shimmered out of nowhere previously.

“Wanna take a selfie?”
Ugh.  I don’t do selfies.”

She merely narrowed her eyes.

“Fine fine fine, we’ll do it your way this time.  But only on one condition.”
“What’s that?”
“That we get to use that thing over there,” I nodded, “as the background.”
“Why?”
“Because nobody on Earth is going to believe the picture is real, and that just makes it that much more fun.”
“Yeah, because they’re totally going to believe us being on the Moon without that thing.  Totally legit.”
“Hey smart ass, just roll with it okay.”
“Okay okay fine,” she replied.

Taking her phone out of her water-dripping purse, she was readying the camera for the selfie when –

– I snapped my fingers and disappeared in a puff of smoke, as a note drifted slowly thereafter.

Picking up the note, she laughs, puts it in her purse, and stomps her stiletto on the ground and vanishes.

Waking up from having my face buried in a book, I yawn ever so slowly.

While I’m stretching waking up, I realize there is a note folded within the book I just woke up from.

Laughing, I put the note away, and make a paper airplane after writing two lines it, and aim it softly at the closest painting as the plane vanishes out of sight.  The kid’s eyes next to me got enormous while I mouth “Shhhhhhh.”

The kid smiles, and he starts making a paper airplane.  As he’s about to launch it, I close the book and the bell rings.

I have to get back to class.

Author’s Note:

This post was totally unplanned until nigh an hour go or so. I read a post from someone that spoke about the Moon.  That story reminded me of the post I wrote a bit ago called “Have You Ever Walked On The Moon?”  More importantly, the post was inspiring, and this was what I wrote off the cuff.  My mind is still total mush, so hope it makes some semblance of sense.

Lastly, the kid in the story is merely to serve that imagination is contagious, just like what happened with me right now.  You’ll never know how the smallest of circumstances will stoke the embers of someone’s imaginations.

Why I Love Fridays | #TGIF | #Motivation | #Inspiration| #Positivity | #PositiveVibes | #Life | #Mindset

You’re probably thinking, “Who doesn’t love Friday?”

Okay Negative Nancy, LEMME TELL SOMETHING TO YOU (voiced like the guy from Happy Feet – another one of my favorite movies), THERE’S NO NEED TO RAIN ON SOMEBODY’S PARADE.

I don’t love Fridays in the traditional sense, but by the resonant effect Friday’s create.

Honestly, to me it matters not what day it is.  Given my health issues in the past, I live by the adage “Everyday above ground is a great day.”  I’m thankful to be alive, every day.  Every, single, day is f%$@ing fantastic, (say it slowly with me) FAN-TAS-TIC.  Waking up only gets better from there.  Fridays are no different.

Why do I love Fridays though?  Because Friday is the day everyone else ends up enjoying the most.  There’s expectancy, hope, happiness, excitement – I revel in that.

I love it when it’s Friday because people are downright thrilled about that today.  Aren’t you all?  It’s nigh their default and it’s incredible to see.  That just makes my day every single Friday.

It reminds me of an instance I had with my friends father a long time ago when was in my early 20s that echoes until this day.

I never saw him enjoying the pool they had on the property.  Not onceThat struck me as odd, as I am sure it does most of you.  What’s the point of having a pool if you’re not going to use it?

It was a brand new pool and we had used it dozens of times in that summer.  One time, coming out of the pool, I asked him point blank, “Why don’t you go into the pool?”  He replied because I don’t care about the pool, it love seeing everyone enjoying it, that makes me happy.

Likewise, I don’t care that it’s Friday, but I genuinely love seeing people in their wholehearted positive nature.  That, just, makes, my, day.

And if that’s not motivation, I DON’T KNOW WHAT DAY YOU ALL ARE WAITING FOR!

Chop chop, you all go do something great!

Long-distance high fives the whole way.  TGIF – Be safe.

The above blog post might not seem like its content similar to the rest I’ve been sharing, but it truly is.

Ponder this: how often do you see someone in a great mood do a bad thing?  Rarely.  How often do you see people in bad moods do good things?  Same answer.  People in good moods do good things, people in bad moods do bad things.

What better day of the week for people to have good moods than Friday?  The way I see it, why not help stoke the fires of change while they’re burning bright?

Life has many intricacies that make it worth living.  It is in these intricacies, these auspicious moments that life seems to take a rather unique flavor.  Every day presents a new journey, every hour offers a new possibility, every moment is a gift to be had and appreciated.

As life begins ticking down the seconds, minutes, and days of our lives, and we get wrapped up in our daily routines, it’s easy to forget how precious and unique each of our lives is.  These leads to many people, myself included, to begin taking things for granted.

For example, one thing many people tend to take for granted is health.  People tend to think that because they seem healthy, they are healthy.  And then, out of nowhere a diagnosis with a serious chronic disease hits them, utterly blind-siding them.  Whether the disease is cancer, diabetes, heart disease, MS, or something else, diseases don’t come out of nowhere.  This happens because the body has stopped being at-ease, and now is in a state of dis-ease.

I become disheartened seeing these events take place because we live in an age where people know more than any other age in history, and yet ignorance is more rampant than ever, especially ignorance about health.

If people take health for granted, which is arguably the most precious thing in life, what else are they taking for granted?

I am only ruminating here, particularly because I’ve been there, as many of you have as well.  That said, after being hospitalized myriad times and spending many months in the hospital, I quit taking my health for granted.  This is also a reason why I plan share a lot of natural and alternative health information in this blog, be them through reviews or other articles mirrored and so on.

What I have learned is that there’s two ways we as individuals go through life.  We either contribute to a positive state of being in every single way, for ourselves, and others, which affects our heart, mind, body, and soul.  Or we contribute to a negative state.  Each and every single choice we make contributes to one of these two states, and there really is no in between.  There’s no half-way to being healthy.

An individual is either healthy, or they aren’t.  Moreover, the combined net effects of these choices, hopefully positive contributions, will have a compound effect.   Having better health, helps your mind, body, and allows you to be in a better state of awareness.  When we have a clear mind, it is easier to make high quality decisions about all aspects in life.  The same goes for everything else.  Unfortunately, the opposite is also true.

Ultimately, life is about the quality of choices we make.  If we carry out high-quality decisions in life, we will have high quality results.  If we make poor-quality choices in life, we will have poor quality results.  It’s that simple.

That being said, for me, after almost having a dance with the reaper, choosing whether to be healthy or not wasn’t even a choice.  If I wanted to live a healthy meaningful and fulfilling life, I had to do everything possible and be proactive rather than reactive as I had been in the past.

No more taking things for granted, especially important things.  I am not going to become a statistic.

My only hope is that more people realize what they take for granted before it’s too late.  Lucky for me, I was luck and I was able to re-steer the ship of my life into a new direction.  Unfortunately many do not have that opportunity.

We are the choices we make, and the totality of this accrues for better or worse, but in the end, we are in control, each and every single one of us.  Knowing that, let’s be cognizant and make high quality decisions every single day.

#Consciousness – The Key To #Life

“Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.”
– John C. Maxwell

“Sometimes it’s the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.”
– Keri Russell

“Choice is the most powerful tool we have.  Everything boils down to choice.  We exist in a field of infinite possibilities.  Every choice we make shuts an infinite number of doors and opens an infinite number of doors.  At any point we can change the direction of our lives by a simple choice.  It is all in our hands, our minds, and our minds.”

Life, as a journey is a notion that has always been incredibly fascinating to me for myriad reasons.  Each of us as individuals is not only the main protagonist in our own story, but we are taking unique path towards whatever destination we are headed towards.  Those destinations will be laden with curious circumstances, and these circumstances can become the foundation for our each and every step, or they can serve to steer us from our current path.

Yet, our bearing is always our bearing – as individuals.  Where you go is your choice and only yours.  The totality of your life when its all said and done will be a confluence of all the choices you make.  These choices will reverberate in countless ways, with countless people and spawn countless circumstances.  The aggregate of all of this will ultimately dictate what your story will become.

Life is an interesting journey, for you never know what obstacles you will face and overcome, what other individuals you will meet on your journey, and where your road will ultimately lead.  The roads are many, and the choices more so.

On this journey, as individuals, we are all headed somewhere.  But where?  Each of our paths is so wonderful, that nobody else in the breadth and scope of history will take the same path.  Read that again.  That’s a very intriguing proposition, for it means all of us take a path that’s so unique, that nobody could ever mirror it.

Could individuals take the same steps we take, or that others have taken?  Surely.  But that will never be a one-to-one correlation to ever single step you take, every single choice you choose.

If you’re going to pave a path nobody has ever paved, and it was your ultimate path, what would it be?  Where would you go?  What would you do?  What will you accomplish?  Have you thought about it?  It’s something to ponder deeply.

In life, no path is linear, but choices all connect.  Every circumstance, every choice, every moment, every breath, is a dot.  The displacement of these dots upon the canvas of life connect to paint an incredible picture, the picture you make with your own life.  This picture is the very manifestation of your consciousness, of your being, of everything you have ever been, are, and will be.  These dots, these moments, all couple with each other because life is seamless, and in that seamlessness is where we can get caught up in the moments.

Something else that operates seamlessly is water.  Water is always operating like a gong, holding full potential in its totality.  The same way one strike upon a gong will make it reverberate throughout, one drop of water will reverberate throughout a ponder for instance, and affect it greatly.  Your life as an individual is no differentOne choice has the power to change not only your life but that of others.  That’s incredible power, something that’s not oft-ruminated upon.

In that sense, your choices become waves – a manifestation of an instance that travels to its destination.  And just like waves will ultimately travel to a destination, your choices will ultimately travel to an endpoint, wherever that will be.

One thing waves teach us is that, if we don’t keep our balance, we will get swept by them.  As someone who almost drowned twice, I was taught not to fear the waves, but become one with them.  Swimming wasn’t the problem, it was the fear of drowning.  We as individuals need to be cognizant that waves will do what they always do, and as such, we individuals need to respond in kind: do what we can do.

Knowing that there are options when one is caught in such a dilemma, I had choices to make if ever the moment came where I was being swept by a riptide, and came they did after the first instance.  When I responded in these circumstances in fear, I was swept in pure terror and let’s call it sheer luck why I ultimately made it.  When I realized that when that circumstance happens, being swept by the waves, if you don’t give into fear, then you have total control and you can adjust accordingly, like water.

Water always adjust according to nature, according to the circumstances.  Water can even transform into something else under the right circumstances.  Individuals are no different.  Individuals can – and do – transform at certain times in life.  But those transformations usually seem to happen under the most extreme pressures – just like diamonds are created.  Or, as in my case, possibly drowning.

When the riptide has it’s name woven in water and it comes after you, you can’t give into fears because it’ll be fear that ultimately sweeps over you.  This has born itself out in my life countless times, not just in the possibility of drowning.

It’s become known to me that when my choices are based out of fear, many of my worst circumstances I could ever imagine took place, including those possible drowning incidents.  But if I responded with balance, full control of all my being, I realized that things that seemed like obstacles were merely speedbumps, and thing that were real obstacles were easier to either overcome or sidestep.

Why does this matter?  Because on our journey, we will face myriad obstacles.  Some obstacles are problematic, and some just seem so.  As someone who used to be afraid of dark (actually, if we are to be 100% accurate, I was terrified of it.  Yes, don’t laugh, it’s the truth) I used to hate sleeping in the dark.  If any of you know me or have read some of my writing though, I write about darkness a lot and have for well over twenty years.

How could I write about darkness so much if I hated darkness with the totality of my being?  Because the darkness itself does nothing.  My perception of it was what brought about fear and dis-ease within me.  I’m not saying that evil doesn’t exist, please don’t misunderstand me.  I’m just talking about how our minds – my mind in this particular example – can be afraid of things that are merely shadows, and how those things can really take its toll on us at times.  At least that has been the case within my life.

Realizing the disparity between the truth and perception, I became empowered in seeing circumstances for what they are, and was better able to keep balance much better, which has certainly led to an increase in quality of life.  This has all made my personal journey more significant, rather than what it was over a decade ago because I was letting the tide control my bearing rather than my choices – my choices at the being level, at the level of consciousness.  And it is the being level – where your consciousness resides – that calls the shots, that holds the most power within your life.

You might be thinking, but how can we make choices from different parts of our being?

Ponder this, and ponder this carefully please for it has an incredible bearing on what follows: when you are driving anywhere, and it’s a long drive, doesn’t your mind – at times – end up drifting to such an extent, that you don’t even remember part of your journey?  We have all gone through this.

Now I ask you, who is making that choice?  State differently, what part of your being is making that choice?  Is it you, at the being level?  Or is it the you when the auto-pilot which engages that makes choices seamlessly, and yet, not thoughtfully?  Only you can answer that question.

This is relevant because much of our lives – mine included – can be lived in autopilot mode.  This has been something I think about a lot, because paying attention to 30+ poker tables simultaneously, you almost engage in autopilot play by default, just like in life.  In that sense, we as individuals end up operating like machines, instead of operating with thoughtfully carried out choices, as beings of reason.

It is within the focus that only resides within our being that our best choices stem from.  And while autopilot serves its purpose, many options that are taken at the autopilot level aren’t necessarily what’s best for us as individuals.  This is crucial for there are times where choices made from within our deepest levels must be taken, for if they are not and autopilot engages, we can take the wrong turn in life.

If that takes place sometimes it can be quite tough to get back onto our original path.  In my case, the ‘best’ (or worst!) examples of choices I have taken in autopilot are those which affected my health.  This is the vanguard reason why I attempt to – though don’t always – end up trying to be hyper-focused – mindful – on many things that might seem irrelevant.  Why so?

If as an individual, one can be incredible focused on the run-of-the-mill ‘easy’ choices, then being focused when it counts it’s a lot easier.  This way staying on our personal bearing isn’t as complicated as it can be become if we’re on autopilot.  Seeing the potentiality of every single choice, no matter how small, reminds me of the sentiment within the quote by Carmelo Anthony which states:

“Any decision I make is the biggest decision of my life.”

Just like the captain of a ship cannot get to his destination without plotting a specific course, individuals cannot get to their destination without taking specific choices.  Choices that are taken with every step, with every breath.

Choices that can open the doors of today, paving the roads of tomorrow.

But always remember: your consciousness – your inner most level – is the skeleton key of life, for it opens all doors.

Where will those doors lead?  Only you know that, because only you hold the key.

You always have, and you always will.

Ancient Knowledge [Part 1] – Consciousness, Sacred Geometry, Cymatics, Illusion of Reality

“If you have a golfball sized consciousness…when you read a book you’ll have a golfball size understanding…When you look out, a golfball sized awareness, and when you wake up in the morning…a golfball sized weightfulness…But if you could expand that consciousness…then you read the book…more understanding, you look out, more awareness…when you wake up, more weightfulness. It’s consciousness. And there is an ocean of pure vibrant consciousness inside each one of us. And its right at the source and base of mind, right at the source of thought – It’s also at the source of matter.”

To understand the world around us, we must take a deeper look into what composes our very reality.  To comprehend our very reality, we need to discern which laws the universe follows.

Once we begin to understand the components which make this grand dream we call life, a larger picture is webbed – one of beautiful & endless information.  Yet, this information is malleable by mere thought, for intent itself – consciousness – is what drives the universe.

March 29, 2019

As a preamble, the idea for this blog post stems from a conversation I had with my friend nigh a week and a half ago.  The whole point of the notion, ‘you’re on the clock’, simply refers to the amount of time you have left in life.

With that out of the way, the main topic that my friend and I talked about was mindset, though from two separate avenues.  He talked about it through music as he is a musician, and I talked about it through self-directed learning.  This conversation was reminiscent of many conversations I’ve had with people about mindset, and it’s always great to see two distinct angles have one overarching commonality.

How do mindset and time couple, though?

Each of us have plans that we would love to accomplish (don’t we all?), but it never seems like we have enough time.  Moreover, ideas often grow like weeds and it’s incredibly easy to get side-tracked on myriad ideas without focusing on one specifically or logging enough time into that one main project or idea that has been waiting in the wings for quite some time.

What’s worse, time keeps on ticking by: life waits for nobodyThat is a very sobering and disheartening prospect.  Every second that passes, only passes once – once.  This of course is glaringly obvious, and yet, I would argue that everyone including myself donates time by the truck load into the ever present vortex of distraction.

Precision with time is so paramount, that it is my belief that there should be courses taught on this very subject, for it affects all aspects of our lives.

Have travels in mind?  Spend time taking a trip to whatever destination it might be.
Wish to learn more?  Spend more time educating yourself.
You love to help others?  Spend more time aiding others in any way you can.
Need extra income for x, y, or z reason?  Spend more time at work.
Want to have quality time with whomever?  Spend time with that person.

Now, do me a favor, reread the last five sentences and tell me what’s the most important word in all of them.

What did you come up with?  Was it the word time?

My contention would be that time is the second most important word all those sentences.  You could ask, how could that be?  This post is about time, isn’t it?  Certainly, it is.  But time is not something we have control over.  How we spend that time is.  As such, the word I want to home-in on is ‘spend’.

Spending implies something that is used up, consumed or exhausted.  These are sobering words that bring about the implication: time is valuable.

In fact, so much so that, the full latitude of our lives are spent [there’s a derivative of that word again] in such a way to highlight what?  Key moments in time.

I do not believe anybody would argue that time isn’t valuable.  However, if it is valuable, how come time is taken for granted by all of us including me?  I can’t answer for everyone else, but I can answer for myself.  I know that although I try and be incredibly precise with my time, I always want to do more, I always need to do more, and yet, I do not do as much as I would like or am able to.  Why so?

Because time, like water, is everywhere – it is a mainstay in our lives.  Its easy to overlook something that’s part of your life, every single day, for the rest of your life.  How many things come close to that?

If time wasn’t gifted to anyone – and it is a gift – and one had to work to purchase it, people would treat seconds like rubies, hours like black pearls and days like treasure chests full of invaluables from times immemorial.  Hell, people would hoard seconds like water in a desert.[1]  Perhaps a perspective similar to that would make all individuals value time more.  It’s certainly something to consider and a rumination I will attempt to focus on quite more daily.

Now to that damn clock: it keeps ticking, it’s always ticking.  What’s the destination of your clock?  Where is your time going?

For me personally, at this moment its writing this very blog.  After that?  I’m uncertain, and I can readily admit that.

Life is full of uncertainties, but how you – the individual – spends their time doesn’t need to be one of them.
